The 2012 H-1B Season is Upon Us . . . Will This Year's Economy Bring a Lottery? At this juncture it does not seem likely, however, as the statistics from last year show, planning for the H-1B is the key to being able to continue your work authorized status in the U.S. It need not be said, but, it is always best to seek competent immigration legal counsel to be able to find a way to legally remain in authorized work status in the U.S.

So Hurricane Irene has come and gone! We were expecting to be at the epicenter, here in Central Jersey, but we were fortunate as the storm swerved eastward. Of course, many parts of NJ are flooded, with damage from downed trees and power lines, but people are safe. Kudos to NJ Governor Christie and to NY mayor Bllomberg for their tireless preparation and for bringing awareness. The Monday morning quarterbacks are at it of course saying the "what ifs" and asking why a big deal was made. I ask them - if folks were not asked to evacuate and then several emergency evacuations placed the lives of firemen and policemen at risk, would you be there in the storm, flood and danger, alongside them? They too belong to some family who prays for their safety daily. A small discomfort for being evacuated cannot compare to the anguish of families losing their beloved fire and police family members on account of the selfishness of a few!
Harvard Business School has named Nitin Nohria as its 10th dean. He is the first Indo-American to be named for the top position in the prestigious institution's 102-year old history. Congratulations.
