Me and friend were walking around W Broadway Soho one evening and decided to make a left turn on Broome and Wooster. Enjoying the cobble stone street view and the distant headlights of a car (I was walking in the middle of street and yes I was sober), we saw a well lit bookstore at the end of the block (corner of Spring and Wooster) and saw lots of people inside. My friend wanted to check it out. After the front door we noticed everyone had a glass of wine. I also noticed the very interesting presentation of books they had. But first we hit the wine bar and they were happy to pour us a complementary glass of wine or champagne. They also had a bottle of Jack Daniels which they said would be on the rocks. If they had coke I would definitely had some of that! FREE LIQUOR IN NYC BABY! The book selections were all their brand of books. Amazing books! We saw a few books that were based in India. Photography in these books were interesting and peaked my interest. I had to check if I can buy these on Amazon for less because the cover prices were (some) high. My favorite presentation of 1000 recipe Indian book was the cookbook which comes inside a classic Indian rice bag. This book also had a very good intro of Indian cities where these recipes are based from. We also saw nice books on art, architecture and industrial design. There was one book that even had pop ups. While looking at a book with one hand and holding my glass in another I was approached by an employee at the bookstore who asked me if I wanted a refill (twice) and asked I f I wanted more when I tried to return my glass. I hope they have these public events more often! If you like well designed books then check this out.
